Finally, after a long night of going through chat clients from hell with blinking lights, annoying beeps, ads and God-awful designs, I finally found what I was looking for.

Edit: IRC-chat is deleted. There's a new chat on the bottom of the page.It can take a couple of seconds before you're logged in, be patient.
The client I installed is called CGI:IRC and it is a CGI-script running locally on the Synchromysticism Forum server.
It connects to the Blitzed IRC-network.
The channel you are transported to while logging in is called #Synchromysticism and is registered on me.
The client is easy to use. You don't need to register or download any software, just choose a nick and login..
If you want to register your nick in order to prevent someone else from "nicking" it hehe, then just enter the command /msg NickServ REGISTER *passwordhere* *E-mail here*
You'll receive a confirmation E-mail with instructions on how to confirm.
For some reason I had to do this procedure twice.
The sounds doesn't seem to work unfortunately, but that's not the most important function, so it's OK.
I'm very glad I finally found this simple, but effective client.
See you in the chat.
The Chat-button will come up as soon as I learn how to change the top menu. This announcement will be active for 10 days.
To join #Synchromysticism through your own IRC-client, see this list of Blitzed servers:
