It beat out, by 13 billion light years, each, "X-men Origins" / Wolverine and Will Farrell /unbearably dumb "Land of the Lost" [The multiplex was so open and empty I could just walk into those other two. And then walk out easily.]



This movie evoked a displacement in my own identity feelings. And it was a very positive experience.

I don't want to post any spoilers, so I will have to discuss scene in question later.

But I will remind others of the easily [creepily?] coincidental lyrics to the David Bowie song "Killer Star"

The words "New Killer" Star sounds like "Nuke-uler" Star, the way George W. would say it.

Bowie was living near Battery Park on the day the murderous hoax was pulled.

Rosalee/Webfairy mentioned the resemblance of some of the poor CGI as making the "plane" have a shark tail.

Last night, I took an image from where I stood, across the street from the Atlas monument area, which is where I obtained the Bal-looking view of "the Rock." When I took the picture of Atlas I stood in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral:



The figure, as sculpted appears to be emerging from a wave of water, but with the lighting it looked like an emergence from fire. You might not be able to make out the "water wave," the figure has half a leg in, from my photo. But you can see it clearly in the image below:

Not having seen the movie, I don't know whether this synchs to the "machine" - that intricate organization that runs the world - or whether the machine turns out to be benevolent or not, but something tells me it is not to be trusted:

It was raining off and on yesterday in NYC. At one point like a monsoon.

When it was flooding hard, since it came on so suddenly, many people had to take refuge in the exit space , under the overhang, from the subway and not go out onto the street. A crowd gathered and watched the Spint ad sign across the way.



It was the exit from the subway onto "Forty Deuce" which is the name of the famous drag right off from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which was cleaned up by Disney and the city officials. It, at one time , had many old theatres that were used as porn houses before the advent of VHS.

It was raining outside and the billboard right in front of us showed a city, which closely resembled the tip of the island of Manhattan, flooding.

And you are supposed to be looking through the eyes of a Gorillla, a la King Kong, @ your hand held.





Subtle threat? King Kong (disaster) is coming and the island is flooding out too. One better have one's hand held?

Supposed to be amusing - and there are no tall buildings downtown, in the simulation. A few look totally out of proportion. You're supposed to know it's geo-referencing? And assume that's how badly done is the art?

In "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3" the train full of passengers is hijacked and parked on the subway tracks "between 42nd and 51st." Interesting that your King Kong - giant killer monkey - photo was taken at 42nd. 51 is the atomic number of antimony - monk(ey) killer.

I'm coming in late with this one, but I am responding to the bird called KITE. Known from Egyptian mythology, it is also in the title of this Beatle's song which seems to have some synchy lyrics

Why did you think you were coming in late , Quantum? I know this is off topic. However in the text of the poster which inspired the song, there is refernce to Roch, Rock and to Wells.

I like the association you made, since Isis was a Kite, when she rescued Osiris.

Isis is associated with that bird. I wouldn't have thought to research that, before you alluded to it.

"kite" turns out to be a sacred form of the goddess Isis. "Mr Kite" would refer to Osiris - her consort?
